Blood Type

Blood Type O

Individuals of Type O blood have the thinnest blood, strongest immune systems, strongest stomach acids, and live the longest of all the blood types.

Genetically, stomach acid was needed to break down the high nutriment diets on which our original ancestors thrived. This very strong acid is used to break down acid completely and since plant based raw diet was mankinds original food source in reference to the biblical garden of eden and the evolution of ape man adapting to survive as food sources changed the type O was able to adapt to metabolizing almost any food because of this strong stomach acid.

If you were to check the blood types of most competitive body builders, professional athletes, such as basketball, baseball, soccer, football, and boxers, you would find that an alarming number of them are blood type O. If you check the blood type of the american indians who live in south america almost all of them are blood type O.

We all want to eat right, but for most of us it is a guessing game. Type O’s can metabolize more food sources as a result of their strong stomach acid than any other blood type. For this reason they more easily acquire proper nutrition with the least amount of effort. All other blood types must acquire proper nutrition with combinations of foods compatible with their lower stomach acid content and blood enzymes.

Blood Type A
The first mutation from blood type O was blood type A. A blood types came about when people started to migrate to places which had no animals present to feed from or were not abundant. Since type A mutated from type O, this blood type is very similar to type O and can eat many of the same plant proteins that can be consumed by blood type O.

It is believed that many type A’s which got used to eating from the environment adapted to more of a vegetarian diet. These adaptations happened because there were no animal available for some time. There are many different theories of why type A’s work best as vegetarians. Some may have been carrying the O recessive gene thereby allowing them many of the characteristics of the O gene individuals. The A blood type is the only partially mutated gene and this is still a mystery to all anthropologists.
Individuals of type A blood have the thickest blood of all types. Since the blood is thick as it moves through arteries and veins, especially after or during periods of sleep, any saturated fat in the bloodstream has an opportunity to deposit itself more easily. When type A’s eat animal or dairy products inconsistent with their blood type- their already thick blood agglutinates, or gets thicker and stickier.
Once your blood thickens this will lower immune functions, thereby causing or increasing the chances of cancer to develop. While the A blood type does a great job to metabolize fruits and vegetables it does a terrible job metabolizing animal protein. In the United States 40% of the population is type A.
Research shows that most cancers are type A related, and the majority of A’s eat a animal and potato diet and lots of foods unsuitable for their type, it is indeed predictable this blood type would be overwhelmed with high blood pressure, diabetes, anemia, cancer, and heart disease.

Blood Type B

Type B blood was the third mutation through man’s adaptation, after types O and A. Individuals of this blood group share some characteristics of types O and A. Although they represent a mix of the two previous blood type in some ways there are some very notable exceptions.
Type B blood is not as thin as type O blood, nor is it as thick as type A blood. Type B individuals have the ability to eat and metabolize dairy products, which both type O and type A do not tolerate very well. We found individuals of type B tend to contract diseases such as polio, lupus, and rare disorders such as Lou Gehrig’s.
Type B’s average the second longest life span after type O’s, which have been living the longest since the beginning of time. Type B’s have also been found to be the second most muscular types compared to type O’s. Even though type B’s can build muscle similar to type O’s, most B’s that we have found gravitate more to coaching sports rather than playing them. More type B’s can be found in the fields of medicine, science, technology, lawyers, and judges.

Blood Type AB

Type AB blood type is the only blood type that did not evolve as the previous two blood types. Blood types A, B, and O have been around for centuries but blood type AB has only been around for about 2000 years. Blood type A and B evolved because of a change in our environment but blood type AB did not.
Studies have shown that blood type AB is a result of mixing both A and B blood types. Since both A and B are dominant genes, genetically speaking, the offspring should have been A or B. If A and B have been in existence for so long, what triggered the events that caused the mutation to AB? We have still yet to find out the answer to that question. We still think that in the next few century we might have another mutation to a fifth blood type which might encompass all blood types. Some people would argue that this blood type is less susceptible to all of the diseases that strike O’s the hardest, and as such, this is natures way of evolving to insure the survival of the species.
Blood type AB is the only blood type with two dominant traits. If a parent of blood type O mixes with a parent of blood type A, the trait being dominant will prevail more times that the recessive trait O. The same holds true for B which is dominant over O. For most blood type O’s this theory doesn’t sound too attractive. When an A parent mixes with an B parent, the outcome genetically speaking should be either A or B, not AB. In any case, AB exists and only represents about 2% of our population worldwide.

In 1901, Karl Landsteiner, a Viennese physician, discovered that humans had four different blood types called A, B, AB and O. For the next 100 years, nobody knew why humans have these four different types. However, researchers in England recently dug up the bodies of people who had died from the 1665 London plague, and made the startling discovery that most of the people who died had type B blood, showing that far fewer people had type B blood than before the plague. Scientist now have to explain why people with Type B blood were more likely to die from plaque. We know that the plague was caused by infection with a bacteria called Yersinia pestis that came from bites by fleas that had picked up the germ by first biting infected rats.

When a germ gets into your system, you make a protein called an antibody that attaches to it and kills it. Your body is not supposed to ever make antibodies against itself. Your immunity recognizes a germ by the sugar surfaces on cell membranes. Type B surface membrane on red cells is the same as the surface membrane of certain bacteria. Yersinia pestis is a bacteria that you can still get today from bites from infected fleas. So, if you are type B, you cannot make antibodies against type B surface of cells, because you would attack yourself and destroy all your red blood cells. So, when yersinia gets into your bloodstream, your immunity does not kill it, so it causes horrible blisters and swollen lymph nodes and you can go into shock and die. 12,000 citizens of London died from yersinia in one week in 1665.

Don’t think that you are safe just because you do not have type B blood and, therefore, are not likely to die from an intestinal bacteria such as Yersinia. People in blood group A, are at much higher risk for heart attacks than those in other groups because their blood is far more likely to clot. They have higher blood levels of factor VIII, which helps blood clot, and clots are the terminal factor that blocks arteries to cause a heart attack.

There are more than 300 known variations in blood types. For example, you are also classified as to whether the surface of your red blood cells contain a Duffy surface. Almost no one in Africa has the Duffy red blood cell type. The Duffy surface protein is a key that opens cells to let the cause of malaria in. So, if you are bitten by a mosquito that is infected with malaria and you have the Duffy blood type, Plasmodium viva, the bacteria that cause malaria will enter your cells just as if they belong there and you will die. So, if you lived in Africa, where malaria is epidemic, you would die. Over time, in Africa, people who had Duffy proteins died from malaria. Almost all Caucasians have the Duffy proteins on the surface of their red cells because their ancestors were not exposed to malaria.

Your red blood cells may have another surface protein called Lewis blood type. People with the Lewis blood type are at extremely high risk for stomach ulcers. The Lewis blood type is the surface protein on Helicobacter pylori, which causes more than 90 percent of stomach and intestinal ulcers. If you have the Lewis surface protein on your red blood cells, you cannot make antibodies against the Lewis surface protein. Helicobacter has the same surface protein as the Lewis red cell type. So Helicobacter punches holes in your stomach, while your immune system stands by and does nothing, because Helicobacter bacteria look just like your own cells with the Lewis surface to your immune system.

The Little-Known Link Between Blood Type and Autism (and Why It Matters to EVERYONE)

As a wave of autism reaches pandemic proportions (one in 94 boys in the US) a great deal of time and effort is going into exploring the causes and potential.

Still, too many researchers are looking off in the wrong direction while major media outlets like CBS, ABC and NBC ignore the fact that natural prevention and treatment of autism is effective and works!

Body Ecology has long championed a natural approach to preventing and treating autism, with excellent success. I firmly believe that we have unlocked the mystery of autism and other disorders on the spectrum like Asperger’s, ADD and ADHD, and can successfully and consistently eliminate this epidemic with our knowledge and diet that focuses on the wisdom of our bodies and the inner ecosystem. Blood type provides valuable information about our children that should be more widely understood.

Blood Type A

About six years ago I began working with families and children with autism. Today I have two deep file drawers filled with consultation forms and it is quite easy to see that roughly 8 out of 10 children with autism are blood type A. Blood type researcher Dr. Peter D’Adamo has also noted a marked prevalence of blood type A’s with autism.1

Being blood type A myself, I feel keenly attuned to the positive and negative aspects of living inside a body with the most sensitive blood type…one prone to infection and acidity. I find it interesting that many of us who research and teach about health are all blood type A. Dr. Joe Mercola, Sally Fallon, Dr. Peter D’Adamo, Dr Leonard Smith, and Jordin Rubin are all As and may all be familiar names to you

In The Body Ecology Diet book I describe the differences between the blood types, based both on Dr. D’Adamo’s research as well as my own.

Here are some general characteristics of blood type A:

* In general, people with type A blood tend to have more sensitive constitutions and are more prone to diseases. Too much stress, from food, medicine, chemicals, hormones and lifestyle stress, weakens their immunity much more quickly than other blood types.
* Low stomach acid and digestive problems are more common earlier in life for blood type A’s, even from birth.
* Low stomach acid may not seem like a big deal but it is! When stomach acid (HCL) is low you will not digest proteins well. You will become protein malnourished even if you are eating adequate amounts of protein daily. If you are blood type A take special care when eating animal proteins. Digestive enzymes and fermented foods and drinks are mandatory for type A’s to maintain a healthy inner ecosystem.
* When stomach acid is low cortisol will be elevated.

Research shows that protein malnourishment elevates the stress hormone, cortisol. Signs of protein malnourishment in children are poor muscle tone and swollen bellies… a common symptom in autism.

When cortisol levels remains chronically high it will affect your personality making you feel anxious and more of a perfectionist. You will find it difficult to truly relax and sleep deeply… important for healing.

Elevated cortisol also depletes your sexual hormones (estrogen, DHEA, progesterone, testosterone) and one will age more quickly. When chronically elevated, cortisol is called, “the death hormone”. Unfortunately, this means autistic children are destined to age quickly and are more susceptible to hormone and sleep problems as they age unless this problem is addressed and conquered.

For more on this important topic be sure to read Low Stomach Acid: The Risks, the Symptoms, and the Solutions.
* Low Stomach acid means mineral deficiencies. I have come to believe that minerals may be the most essential of all nutrients. They are essential for assimilation of protein. They keep your blood slightly alkaline so that viruses, fungi, bacteria and cancer cells do not grow as easily. Of course, having said this, healthy fats are essential for assimilating minerals so in truth all the nutrients must be included in your diet each day and this is do-able with The Body Ecology Diet.

Knowing the special characteristics of people with blood type A, it becomes easier to understand why autism is more prevalent among this subset of the population. Their blood is more acidic, their immunity is weaker, their body repairs more slowly and their inner ecosystems are more susceptible to imbalances and dysbiosis.

The good news is that The Body Ecology System of Health and Healing is ideally suited to bring the body and the inner ecosystem of blood type A children and adults (and all blood types, for that matter) back into balance.

In my book, I provide special guidelines for healing foods and exercise for blood type A individuals.

The Link: Blood Type A and Autism

While research about the exact cause of autism is mixed, doctors are beginning to acknowledge that environmental agents and infections may play a key role in the health of the young.

Researchers have found that children with autism have inflammation in their brains. Their cytokines, the chemicals produced by the immune system to organize attacks against pathogens, are always switched “on,” causing constant inflammation.

Basically, these kids have infections in their brains.

They also have inflammation in their intestines.

They have a fungal infection passed unknowingly from mother to child while in the womb or from the use of antibiotics soon after birth.

It makes sense, then, that blood type A children, who are naturally more sensitive to immunological stresses, are more susceptible to developing autism.

So, whether a child is blood type A or not, immune function is key to preventing and treating the “brain and gut infections” that characterize autism spectrum disorders.
