Glen embarked on an ambitious training regime further to his training at Alpha Hypnosis Training School to ready himself for the challenge of working with cancer patients in the specialized field of ‘hypnosis for cancer’. After reading Stephen J Parkhill’s internationally acclaimed book "Answer Cancer: The Healing of a Nation", Glen undertook training with Stephen to learn the art of healing illnesses created by the mind using hypnotherapy as a tool to access deep core emotions.

Having completed his training with Stephen, Glen undertook further training with the prestigious Omni Hypnosis Training Center in DeLand, Florida and after completing his final examination, received certification as a ‘Hypnosis for Cancer Specialist’. Not satisfied with this, Glen spent a further 2 years researching how the mind, emotions, hormones and stress are connected with cancer and other illnesses in the field of ‘psycho-neuro-immuno-endocrinology’ and created the document "Complementary Cancer Therapies to Improve the Immune System".

Glen’s driving force to work with cancer patients began in 1993 when his own mother was diagnosed with breast cancer (2 years after her own mother’s death). Overwhelmed, confused and frustrated by the many alternative therapies for cancer treatment available, Glen and his mother tried a variety of treatments from intravenous Vitamin C (when she was very ill) to Chinese herbal medicine (that was too bitter to swallow), to uncovering the benefits of hyperthermia heat therapy in Germany (when she was too ill to fly). In the end time ran out for Glen’s mother and she passed away in 1997.

After his mother’s passing, Glen trained and worked as a volunteer counsellor with Lifeline Counselling in Sydney and Auckland helping those in the community to face life’s challenges and has since specialized in working with acute emotional disorders and with those with stress-related chronic illnesses such as cancer.

Glen has achieved remarkable success with his Emotional Release Therapy program he developed on his own, which includes hypnotherapy, regression therapy, gestalt (role-play) therapy, forgiveness therapy, and EFT (emotional freedom technique) therapy. As a result of the success of this program, the Papakura Marae Social Services Division refers clients with acute emotional disorders to Glen to participate on this program. Funding is provided by Child Youth Family Services who have seen first hand the incredible impact this program has in its ability to remove destructive anger, hate, fear, grief and anxiety in such a short period of time. This program is ideally suited to those with cancer who carry much repressed anger, hate, resentment and grief."

What are your thoughts?
