In Europeans, the occurrence is even rarer, at one in 1,000,000, or one ten thousandth of a percent (0.001%). Individuals with BBT do not have a \u2018H\u2019 antigen, and cannot make the \u2018A\u2019 and \u2018B\u2019 antigen. India has the highest number with one Bombay blood type per 7600 people<\/strong>.[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC4562130\/#ref9\">9<\/a>] After its discovery in1952,[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC4562130\/#ref5\">5<\/a>] Bombay blood group has been reported by various other workers in different parts of India and even in other Asian and European countries.[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC4562130\/#ref10\">10<\/a>] According to Sathe\u00a0<em>et al.<\/em>, 179 cases of Bombay phenotype were detected of which 112 was found in Maharashtra, followed by 14 cases in Karnataka, 8 cases in Andhra Pradesh, 6 cases in Goa, 5 cases in Gujarat and so on in decreasing order.
