Here is a new study:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Association of ABO blood group and secretor phenotype with severe COVID\u201019 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/full\/10.1111\/trf.16130?fbclid=IwAR2vmCKv980IaYjemSiu6OMCwPF4Dd-J5gApF7QkD-AXB0rfbDoJKXsImkw#trf16130-fig-0001\" target=\"_blank\">Association of ABO blood group and secretor phenotype with severe COVID\u201019<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I will highlight the part I consider quite interesting for now:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p> Although there was no significant association with the risk of thrombotic events (stroke, myocardial infarction, and venous thromboembolism), <strong>remarkably the nonsecretor phenotype was associated with lower in\u2010hospital mortality <\/strong>(adjusted OR, 0.53; 95% CI, 0.32\u20100.83;&nbsp;<em>P<\/em>&nbsp;=\u2009.014). Mortality data according to O vs non\u2010O blood group and rs601338 variant are shown in Figure&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/full\/10.1111\/trf.16130?fbclid=IwAR2vmCKv980IaYjemSiu6OMCwPF4Dd-J5gApF7QkD-AXB0rfbDoJKXsImkw#trf16130-fig-0001\">1<\/a>.
