COVID-19: Is Alcohol Consumption Good?

The following is not medical advice:

On the one hand, it is possible that alcohol has a disinfectant effect on your throat’s part where the virus could be located.

On the other hand, excessive consumption of alcohol weakens your immune system.

Alcohol affects the way health gut microbes interact with the immune systemAlcohol also disrupts the gut barrier, allowing more bacteria to pass into the blood. Excessive drinking reduces the number and function of three important kinds of cells in your immune system–macrophages, T and C cells.

In other words:

I wouldn’t recommend getting drunk in an air-conditioned place with many people.
