Catalonia is on the list of locations highest in terms of percentages of the Celtic genetic marker variation of R1b.

Just like the Basque region, Catalonia is autonomous and many of its inhabitants do not consider themselves to be a part of Spain.
A reported 25% of Catalans are rh negative. One of the famous Catalans was Salvador Dali.
