Most tend to believe we come from ancestors much darker than us and somehow presence in Europe lightened our skin. That premise appears to be 100% false. When looking for information on what the Berbers looked like before the Arabic invasion, Quora claims and images pop up suggesting they were black. They were not. Many of the images in Google are actually from the Dogon people of Mali, who may have had a North African, possibly Egyptian ancestry before fleeing the Arabic conquest, yet at this present time the majority of their DNA is Subsaharan.
