What did the original Berbers look like? – Part 2

Most tend to believe we come from ancestors much darker than us and somehow presence in Europe lightened our skin.

That premise appears to be 100% false.

When looking for information on what the Berbers looked like before the Arabic invasion, Quora claims and images pop up suggesting they were black.

They were not.

Many of the images in Google are actually from the Dogon people of Mali, who may have had a North African, possibly Egyptian ancestry before fleeing the Arabic conquest, yet at this present time the majority of their DNA is Subsaharan.

When referring to the “original Berbers”, I want to know what they looked like before the Arabic conquest.

Are you surprised?

How about this?:

Kusaila was a 7th-century Berber Christian ruler of the kingdom of Altava and leader of the Awraba tribe, a Christianised sedentary Berber tribe of the Aures and possibly Christian king of the Sanhaja.
Dihya, was a Berber queen of the Aurès and a religious and military leader who led indigenous resistance to the Muslim conquest of the Maghreb, the region then known as Numidia, notably defeating the Umayyad forces in the Battle of Meskiana after which she became the uncontested ruler of the whole Maghreb, before being decisively defeated at the Battle of Tabarka.

I have previously listed her among the Top Rh- Warrior Women in history:

…which also includes:

…since I already brought up the Carthaginians above.

Masinissa (c. 240-148 BC)
Juba I (85–46, r.60–46) of Numidia
Reverse: Surrender of Jugurtha. Sulla (notice the written “FELIX”) seated center; before him Bocchus on one knee, offering an olive-branch; Jugurtha kneels with hands tied behind his back. Obverse: Diana. Denarius, minted 62 B.C.

Did they look like you expected?
