What is autism?

In the past few years, there have been 3 questions I have been hearing again and again:

1) What causes autism?
2) How can you cure autism?
3) What is autism?

Here are the usual answers physicians will give you to those questions:

1) “We don’t know, but it isn’t vaccines for sure.”
2) “I will prescribe some medication.”
3) “Good question.”

Can you answer the following questions?:

1) What caused the autism in the boy?
2) How was he cured?
3) Can you describe his condition while within the spectrum?

    My son was severely autustic with no communication or connecting emotions.
    When he was ten, he was traumatized by a family happening and after the unfortunate experience it was as if ‘he arrived!’
    He communicated with eye to eye contact !
    He still has some issues at age 45; however he is a single father of two young boys, works for himself and owns his home. His lifestyle is unusual in ways, special in others.
    He can’t work for anyone except himself as he is ‘the challenged,’ as I call it.
