Your Blood Type and COVID-19

Here is an update with the latest information:

New study suggests blood types B, AB and Rh positives at highest COVID-19 risk
Protective associations between Rh negative blood groups and SARS-CoV-2 infection and death

Before the news about blood type O likely enjoying some form of protection came out, I have already posted a similar study regarding SARS-1.
Blood types A positive appear to be the most at risk according to recent studies.
People with blood type B positive are more affected than those with blood type O positive, but less than those with blood type A positive.
AB positive is at fairly high risk as well.
Other studies examining blood types and infections of viral origin show good results for people with Rh(D) negative ABO types. The latest study appears to confirm that regarding SARS-2.
Strangely, the only COVID-19 death from the NYP study was A negative, but more studies are needed in order to get a better idea on Rh(D) negative types with more subjects studied.
Low B negative frequencies among most populations make it difficult to determine proper results that can indicate risk of infection and/or death resulting from it.
Our recent study posted shows no deaths and low infection numbers, but due to AB negative being the least represented of the 8 major blood types, very little data is expected to be available even in the near future.

    Hi, Rh positive blood contains the Rhaesus Macacas proteine, Rh negatives don’t have it, this posssibly means that rh- ‘s have nothing in common with monkeys, and animals at all.

    I had coronavirus and was moderately ill from it, but not bad enough to be hospitalised (I’m 30). I’m rhesus negative, so don’t be complacent, you can still catch it and be unwell with this blood type.
