Despite the rumors, rhesus negative people CAN get AIDS

The rumor that rhesus negative people are somehow immune to HIV/AIDS will not die down. Even though it has been proven that this is not the case. There might be indication that rhesus negative people are less likely to contract the HIV virus, but claiming that “O negative people cannot get it” is plain and simply false.
However:
It looks like carriers of the HLA-B27 allele experience a protective role of HIV to AIDS progression.

And then I read another claim that HLA-B27 carriers have to be rhesus negative and just to put this one to rest, here is a short explanation on it:

HLA has absolutely nothing to do with ABO or Rh. The genes are even on different chromosomes.
Mirroring has become very common with those who write about rhesus negative related issues.
Some of the most outrageous claims are getting traction because of that.
On the one hand there are the claims that rhesus negatives are more intelligent, but on the other hand the fact that so many fall for blatant fabrications takes away all credibility. On this site I do not claim that rhesus negatives are or are not more intelligent. I also do not claim to have all the answers as I am still in search for more. What I am doing is shining light into the sea of lies so that there is no room for doubt should a fact come to light that blows our minds.
Claiming that rhesus negative people are immune to AIDS is beyond irresponsible.
Even though there are strong indications that we are less likely to get it. There are no official studies out there indicating why this might be the case. So I will refrain from making additional speculations. But if there is anything that I have been missing, feel free to leave a comment.
