Many of us have blond, brown or black hair, yet there is a reddish undertone especially visible when the sun is shining. There also is a unique phenomenon of having different colors of hair on different parts of the face and body. This is especially frequent in Rh(D) negative men where sometimes mustache and different parts of the beard have different colors, often different from the top of the head and the sides.

Why are Rh(D) negatives more likely to show genotypes in phenotype (appearance)?

Examples:

Reddish undertones in hair.

Hazel eyes.

Central heterochromia.

    Hi Mike,
    Born with fine nearly white hair, that stood straight up all over; haha for a while, then graduated into many shades of blond and I had thick hair that had to be thinned out until I was 28. After I had my daughter it started to fall out, then grew back to a dark red auburn! Every one to date thinks I dye my hair. It’s past my waist, virgin hair- which means never dyed.
